Russia & Crypto

Traders and analysts are divided about the status of cryptocurrencies; some consider them alternative money while others deny them as a medium of exchange. Cryptocurrencies initially emerged as an alternative to traditional currencies, but market opinion has changed significantly after seeing the huge price volatility in Bitcoin (BTC) in particular.

Big banks such as JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM), Banks of America (NYSE:BAC), Citigroup (NYSE:C) and others have already banned customers from buying cryptocurrencies using credit cards.

Regulators from India, China, and Bangladesh entirely banned cryptocurrencies, while the U.K. has formed a taskforce to scope out ...

Victoria went to a local shelter to help a friend look for a cat but ended up falling in love with a very shy kitty who had been overlooked by a lot of people.

Victoria @bruce.cleftkitty

Victoria was at the Cats Protection Adoption Center (in St Helens, Merseyside, UK) with a friend 1.5 years ago. She hadn't planned to adopt a cat but one of the kitties caught her attention - it was a beautiful 8-month-old cat with a cleft lip.

As she approached him, the shy little boy was so nervous that he quickly retreated to his bed, his security spot. After talking to the shelter staff, they learned that the kitty had been abandoned. He was very timid after all that he had gone through.

Since then, he had stayed at the shelter for three months and yet no one had stopped for him because of his shyness and concerns about his deformity.

"His cleft lip is only cosmetic and doesn't affect him," Victoria told Love Meow .

Victoria saw a beautiful little guy hidden under that shy exterior. "I knelt down and talked to him. When I saw his cute little face, I knew I wanted to give him a home," Victoria told Love Meow.

She renamed the kitty Bruce. That day, Bruce left the shelter for good.

"It took him quite a while to come out of his shell when we brought him home. We showered him with toys, learned that he likes to play fetch, and sat with him and just stroke him to keep him calm," Victoria told Love Meow.

With a lot of patience and plenty of cat treats, Bruce slowly came out from hiding.

When Bruce decided that he would no longer be afraid, Victoria and her partner were surprised to discover what a cuddlebug he truly is. Underneath that timid facade, there hidden a loving soul who just wanted to snuggle.

"He loves to roll on his back for tummy strokes and loves cuddles with me."

Victoria @bruce.cleftkitty

The couple has three other cats at home.

It didn't take long for Bruce to start cuddling with his feline brothers.

Victoria @bruce.cleftkitty

Chad and Alex, who were rescued from the same shelter as Bruce, took their little brother under their wing.

"His older brother Alex likes to snuggle with him!"

Ron, who came from a different shelter, became Bruce's best play buddy and partner in crime.

They like to chase each other and create mischief around the house.

Bruce adores his feline brothers and shares everything with them - treats, toys, and Bird TV.

Now at two years old, Bruce is confident, playful, cuddly and extremely vocal.

He's a goofy little guy who loves to play and follows his human mom everywhere she goes. "He likes to meow loudly if he's not in the room that I'm in," Victoria told Love Meow.

Bruce is no longer scared of things or people. He's as happy as can be.

"When we first brought him home, he was incredibly timid and shy," Victoria told Love Meow.

"But with encouragement and his three other kitty brothers, he has blossomed into a happy, loud boy!"

Unfortunately, the grass isn’t greener over here today. In fact, it is very, very red. The crypto market has flip-flopped back into the red, with many of the major coins falling fast, including Ripple (XRP) and Litecoin (LTC). It’s not all doom and gloom, though – EOS, along with a few other coins, has managed to stay above the waves.

What’s causing the crypto plunge? Well, news broke that Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) may tell Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, that it will not be allowed to continue operating in the country without ...

Three tiny kittens were found ice-cold in a window well by a member of the public in the Arlington county, Virginia. The 3-week-old feline babies were rescued in the nick of time.

Animal Welfare League of Arlington

Tuesday night, Officers White and Swetnam responded to a call about three motherless kittens left behind in a neighbor's window well.

When the officers safely retrieved the kittens, they noticed that their breathing was faint. They brought them straight to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) to get them the help they needed to survive. Nursery Coordinator Marnie at Kitten Academy took over the kitties and immediately started working on warming their little bodies.

"When they arrived they were freezing and lifeless, but breathing. We put them in our incubator, and after a few hours they were warm enough that they got hungry. That's when we knew they would be OK," Chelsea Lindsey, Communications Specialist of AWLA, told Love Meow .

Animal Welfare League of Arlington

They do not know how the kittens got in the window well. The mother cat was nowhere to be found, and by the temperature of the kittens, it was clear that the mother cat had been absent for some time.

"They were ice-cold and would have died if we left them there," Chelsea told Love Meow. "Saving lives doesn't stop just because of a little snow here."

Animal Welfare League of Arlington

Once the kittens' body temperature was back to normal, they began to feel hungry and were eager to eat.

"All of them ate from their bottles like champs! They have been named Ana, Elsa, and of course, Olaf!"

Animal Welfare League of Arlington

The rescue group arranged a foster home for the trio so they could continue their recovery and growing in the comfort of a loving home. "They are doing great in a foster home and getting stronger by the day," Chelsea told Love Meow.

The three little panther kitties are thriving and enjoying all the good food, cuddles, toys and warm laps!

Melvin the cat was found as a stray wandering around the streets. When he was taken to the shelter, staff quickly noticed that he was quite special.

Best Friends Animal Society

A few months ago, Melvin was rescued from a city shelter in Los Angeles and transferred to the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center for a second chance at life. The sweet 3-year-old cat was born with a condition called microphthalmia, in which the eyeball is smaller than normal.

The medical team at Best Friends determined that his vision was either limited or non-existent. Melvin had likely been living with pain all his life, so a surgery to remove his eyes would make him feel a lot better.

Jackie Gudgel first learned about Melvin through a Facebook post. "I saw it and just completely fell in love with him. I was completely enamored with his sweet little face," Jackie told Love Meow .

Best Friends Animal Society

At the time Melvin was at the shelter in Mission Hills, waiting for surgery. Jackie decided to visit him. ( Scroll down for video )

"I petted his little face for about 15 or 20 minutes, and he was an angel - a little timid at first (Maybe he was wondering 'who is this lady and why is she so excited to pet me?') but he was very affectionate and purring and sweet as can be," Jackie told Love Meow.

Best Friends Animal Society

After his eye surgery, Samantha Bell DiGenova, cat behavior and enrichment lead of Best Friends, took Melvin home to foster. She helped him learn to adjust to living indoors.

As Melvin recovered, he began feeling more confident each day. Despite having no vision, he was able to explore every nook and cranny, using his whiskers and his senses of hearing, smell and touch to navigate around the house.

"He'd hear and smell the other cats outside his door and walk toward them. I could see his ears and whiskers working overtime to compensate for the lack of sight," Samantha said.

Jackie Gudgel

When Melvin was ready for adoption, someone out there couldn't wait to see him. Jackie reached out to Samantha and set up a time to reunite with her old pal.

"When I saw him again there was the same expressiveness in his face," she said. "The surgery didn't change that much about him, and it didn't change anything for me either. He was as cute as ever."

Jackie Gudgel

That day, little Melvin left with Jackie and headed to his new home.

Jackie and her boyfriend Ellison were overjoyed to welcome their little addition into their family. The couple slowly and gradually introduced different parts of their apartment to Melvin.

Jackie Gudgel

"For the first week he was staying in our living room, and after that we opened up the kitchen area and our hallway that leads to our downstairs bathroom.

"Finally we let him explore the upstairs - which even after a month with us, he is still a bit timid about. He finally got up on our bed the other day, which was very exciting!"

Jackie Gudgel

The couple purchased pet stairs to make it easier for Melvin to get on the couch and the bed.

"He doesn't need the couch ones any more as he pops on and off the couch like a pro now! He gets up the courage to try new things (like jumping on the couch or using the stairs)," Jackie told Love Meow.

Jackie Gudgel

Melvin never ceases to amaze his humans with his ability to adapt to his surroundings.

"He has a fascinating way of sensing things around him - he'll move his head back and forth (we call it 'scanning') to pick up sounds and smells, and he'll also move his head around so his whiskers can get a sense of where things are."

Jackie Gudgel

Melvin is a snugglebug who loves to play with his humans and has a collection of boxes to scratch, chew on and hide in.

"At any given time we'll have a few toys strewn on the floor. He loves crawling into tiny weird spaces that we'd never imagine he could get into," Jackie told Love Meow. "When he's not chewing on his toys or cardboard he's extremely affectionate, he's a big fan of chilling with me on the couch and making biscuits on my lap and purring the whole time."

"He's just a great cat who's brought so much love into our lives."

Bitcoin Blockchain

Blockchain has developed quite the reputation over the last year and a half. And why not? Twitter CEO

Twitter CEO, Mr. Jack Dorsey, said in an interview published today by the well-known British newspaper “The Times” that according to his predictions, Bitcoin will eventually dethrone the Dollar and the Euro from their position and become the most important currency worldwide.

He said he believes that the globalized world is pointing towards the adoption of a single currency. A feature that is easier for Bitcoin than for the traditional FIAT currencies over which the dollar has a preponderant position:

A 7-year-old cat and her 3-year-old daughter were found pregnant, living in a cat colony in Alabama.

TNR volunteers from Forgotten Felines of Huntsville (in North Alabama) were able to rescue the mother and daughter pair along with 10+ other cats.

Robyn Anderson

Robyn Anderson, an avid foster carer from the rescue group, took in the mother and daughter duo so they could have a safe place to have their babies and someone to care for them.

"They came to me to foster on February 20th. We expected Kristi to have her kittens nearly immediately because she was so big (she looked like she'd swallowed a basketball). We figured we'd have a while to wait for Katia to have her kittens," Robyn told Love Meow .

A few days later, they woke up to quite a surprise.

Robyn Anderson

On February 25th, Robyn walked into the foster room to find that Katia had given birth to four healthy kittens - two black kittens and two black and white tuxedos.

"We were sure that Kristi would have her kittens very soon after, but were amazed that she didn't have them," she told Love Meow.

Robyn Anderson

They waited for another three weeks, and still no babies had arrived. They started getting worried.

"I finally planned to take her to the vet first thing Monday morning just to be sure she was OK, but she must have known my plans because she started having kittens at about 6:30 Monday morning."

Robyn Anderson

Over the next three hours, Kristi didn't want to be anywhere but with her daughter in her nursing pen.

"The entire time Kristi was in labor, Katia was right there with her, grooming her, soothing her, helping to clean the kittens as they were born. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen." ( Scroll down for video )

Robyn Anderson

Mama Kristi had a total of six healthy kittens. Katia was there to help clean the newborn kittens while nursing her own.

"I have heard of cats co-mothering their kittens, but didn't realize it came with midwife services too!"

Robyn Anderson

"I had assumed that Kristi would want to have her kittens in another location and then perhaps merge the two litters when they were a bit older, but she and Katia and their kittens are sharing the same crate, and it's going very well," Robyn told Love Meow.

"At first each litter of kittens gravitated toward their own mothers, but after a day, they all started nursing off both mothers."

Robyn Anderson

Once the kittens are big enough, they will all be spayed and neutered and put for adoption via Forgotten Felines of Huntsville.

As for now, the two mamas are working tirelessly, nursing their babies and keeping them clean and loved.

Robyn Anderson

Kristi and Katia are constantly cuddling, cheering each other on.

Robyn Anderson

Some of the older kittens even have started grooming the tinier ones and teaching them how to play.

"It is a wonderful and amazing experience, and I'm looking forward to watching them grow up together," Robyn told Love Meow.

Bitcoin Price Watch

Bitcoin continued on its bull run from earlier this week and managed to return to the pivotal $9,000 level this morning. For the past two days, BTC/USD retracted about 30% of the recent price drop from a high of $11,660 (March 5).

Furthermore, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey came out today stating that he sees BTC as the world’s single future currency, overtaking the dollar in importance. Dorsey believes that Bitcoin will overcome its current obstacles such as high transaction costs, and will be used to buy everyday items such as coffee.
